Career Highlights
Albert Peter Low joined the Geological Survey of Canada after graduating from McGill University (Montreal). The Quebec-Labrador border was eventually defined on the basis of his 1893–95 explorations. He resigned in 1901 to prospect for iron on Hudson Bay, but returned to government service and spent the winter of 1903–04 on board the Neptune at Cape Fullerton on the west side of Hudson Bay.
Low became director of the Geological Survey in 1906 and deputy minister of mines in 1907. Illness led to his retirement in 1913.
