William B. Spaulding
(1922 – 1993)
William B. Spaulding was one of the founders of the school of health sciences at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and was associate dean of that department from 1965 to 1970. He was a pioneer in a new and innovative approach to medicine. He was president of the Hamilton Academy of Medicine and founder of the family practice training program. He started a diabetic treatment program that was far ahead of its time. He chaired an education committee whose innovative curriculum was adopted by medical schools all over the world. He was co-author of a book, Revitalizing Medical Education (1991).
