Sarah Nickel

Historian Sarah Nickel (Tk’emlupsemc) uses Indigenous feminist theory in her work to understand the deeply gendered nature of Indigenous politics. In part, Nickel’s work responds to and refutes the pervasive belief that Indigenous women were not political, but rather engaged only in social work befitting of their gendered expectations.
