Kathleen Dickson
Kathleen Dickson is a retired chief technician of the Montreal Neurological Institute who has co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications and is the inaugural recipient of the McGill Faculty of Medicine P. B. Mukhopadhyay Dean’s Award of Excellence for outstanding contributions during her career. Post-retirement, she now holds an MSc degree with Distinction in Genealogical, Paleographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. With a readership of over 250,000 to date, she has co-authored several articles in The Conversation, many reprinted in Maclean’s, the National Post, and other media, as well as op-eds in The Globe and Mail, The Montreal Gazette, The Hill Times and University Affairs. The articles focus on the value of Canadian scientists and their outstanding discoveries that have impacted human health globally, and on championing research funding in Canada. She is a strong advocate of women in science.
