Eugene A. Forsey
Eugene A. Forsey was a scholar, social activist, constitutional expert and senator. In the 1930s, Forsey helped found the League for Social Reconstruction and the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF). From 1942 to 1966, he was a director of research for the Canadian Congress of Labour and its successor, the Canadian Labour Congress. He also taught at McGill University, Carleton University and the University of Waterloo and was chancellor of Trent University. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Forsey was appointed to the Senate and made a Companion of the Order of Canada.
