Cornelius J. Jaenen
Cornelius J. Jaenen is a historian and emeritus professor at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on Canadian history, with particular emphasis on New France and ethnic and religious groups in Canada. He served as president of the Canadian History Association in 1988-89 and, in 1994, he received the Royal Society of Canada’s J.B. Tyrell Historical Medal. In 2012, he received the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. He is the author of numerous publications, including Les Franco-Ontariens and Promoters, Planters, and Pioneers: The Course and Context of Belgian Settlement in Western Canada.
