Chris DeBresson

(1945 – 2007)

Christian DeBresson was born in France. He immigrated to Canada in the 1970s, residing first in Vancouver, then in Montreal. He returned to France to complete a doctorate in economics at the École des Hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. Back in Canada he was a professor of economics at the Université du Québec à Montréal and Concordia University. He focused his research on the management of innovation and the use of input – output analysis to more thoroughly understand technology flows of firms and industry. More than thirty of his articles were published. He wrote and edited five books including Understanding Technological Change (1987).
