Pierre Bernier

Pierre Bernier. Cellist, teacher, b Quebec City 19 Aug 1933. He studied 1948-54 at the CMQ with Walter Joachim, Lucien Plamondon, and Paul Létourneau. He served 1956-66 as a cellist with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and the CBC Quebec Chamber Orchestra.

Pierre Bernier. Cellist, teacher, b Quebec City 19 Aug 1933. He studied 1948-54 at the CMQ with Walter Joachim, Lucien Plamondon, and Paul Létourneau. He served 1956-66 as a cellist with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and the CBC Quebec Chamber Orchestra. He founded and conducted 1972-9 La Cantate, an amateur choir in Quebec City. He served 1969-79 as teacher of cello and director of the orchestra for the Société musicale Le Mouvement Vivaldi (see Létourneau method). He began to teach philosophy at the Petit Séminaire in 1958.
