    Joel Nathan Pedersen, MMM, CD, soldier, police officer, entrepreneur, volunteer (born 3 February 1970 in Saskatoon, SK). Joel Pedersen is a member of the Fond du Lac First Nation and has close family connections to the Mikisew Cree Nation and Métis Nation—Saskatchewan. During a full-time civilian career, he also served in the Army Reserve. Pedersen attained the highest non-commissioned rank of chief warrant officer and became the first member of a First Nation to become a brigade group sergeant major in the Canadian Armed Forces.

    Joey Hollingsworth

    Orlando Theo “Joey” Hollingsworth (né Brown), tap dancer, singer, actor, conga player (born 5 September 1936 in Windsor, ON). A pioneering Black Canadian tap dancer, Joey Hollingsworth was one of the first Black performers on CBC TV. He appeared in numerous TV programs, including the Wayne and Shuster Hour and the Ed Sullivan Show. He is perhaps best known for playing the dancing salesman on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. He also took part in the civil rights movement in the 1960s, performing in shows with such artists and activists as Oscar Peterson and Leon Bibb. Hollingsworth was inducted into the Dance Collection Danse Hall of Fame and the London Music Hall of Fame. He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ontario Black History Society.

    Joey Saputo

    Giuseppe (a.k.a Joey) Saputo, businessman, sports executive, philanthropist (born 25 September 1964 in Montreal, QC). Joey Saputo is the son of Canadian billionaire Lino Saputo, the founder of Montreal-based Saputo Inc., one of the most prominent dairy companies in the world (see also Diary Industry; Cheese and Cheese Making). Joey Saputo is the founding president and chairman of CF Montréal (formerly Montreal Impact), a professional soccer club that plays in Major League Soccer (MLS). Saputo was at the head for the development and construction of Stade Saputo, a soccer-specific stadium, home of CF Montréal. Joey Saputo is also the chairman for the soccer club Bologna F.C. 1909 that plays in the top Italian soccer league Serie A.

    Joey Smallwood

    Joseph “Joey” Roberts Smallwood, CC, premier of Newfoundland (1949–72), journalist (born 24 December 1900 in Mint Brook, NL; died 17 December 1991 in St. John's, NL). The leading proponent of Confederation in Newfoundland in the 20th century, Joey Smallwood played an important role in bringing the province into Confederation in 1949. He served as Newfoundland and Labrador’s first premier for nearly 23 years, and is sometimes referred to as “the last Father of Confederation.” During his lifetime, he was also called “the only living Father of Confederation.”

    Joey Votto, baseball player (born 10 September 1983 in Toronto, ON). Joey Votto is a Canadian baseball player with the Cincinnati Reds. In 2010, he won the National League’s Most Valuable Player Award and Hank Aaron Award, as well as the Lou Marsh Trophy for Canada’s outstanding athlete of the year. Two years later, he became one of the highest paid baseball players in major league history. In 2017, he was again awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy. He has also won the James “Tip” O’Neill Award seven times.
