Christine Chevalier-Caron
Christine Chevalier-Caron is a sociologist and historian by training. Through various projects, she examines relationships of otherness, their impact on the construction of identities, the identity affirmation of minoritized groups and on social inequalities. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the Montreal Sephardic community, as well as the reconfiguration of its identity in contact with Ashkenazim Jews and the majority population of French-Canadian descent. A research professional in the community sector, she leads several projects in collaboration with Indigenous communities, drawing on archival mediation and artistic creation.
