Canada Soccer Player of the Year

The Canada Soccer Player of the Year award is presented annually to the country’s best male and female soccer players. It is awarded by Canada Soccer, the country’s governing body for the sport. Since 2007, the award has been voted on by licensed Canadian coaches and sports journalists. Christine Sinclair won the award a remarkable 14 times — more than any other player. Other repeat winners include Charmaine Hooper (4), Kadeisha Buchanan (3) and Jessie Fleming (3). Atiba Hutchinson has received the award 6 times — more than any other man. Notable Repeat male winners include Alphonso Davies (4), Dwayne De Rosario (4) and Jonathan David (3). Awards in both men’s and women’s categories are also presented for Young Player of the Year, Futsal Player of the Year and Para Soccer Player of the Year.
