Patricia Lorraine Tutty, "Paddy," folksinger, musician, song-collector (b at Calgary 12 Apr 1953). A gifted instrumentalist, she began performing contemporary FOLK MUSIC with her sister Leslie in the late 1960s, initially accompanying herself on guitar.
Joseph-A Fowler. Organist, choirmaster, pianist, composer, teacher, b Montreal 1845, d there 4 Jan 1917. Born of an Irish father and a French-Canadian mother, he was one of the first piano pupils of Paul Letondal.
In 1989 Saint-Pierre became the first Québec designer to participate at the Fashion Coterie of New York. Three years later she presented her collection in Singapore.
Roland François Mahé, theatre director (b at St-Boniface, Manitoba 1 May 1940). Mahé graduated with a BA (Fine Arts) from the University of Manitoba in 1963.
Victor Di Bello. Conductor, administrator, b Toronto, of Italian parents, 11 Feb 1933, d there 31 May 1997. He studied piano with Jessie Blake and Madeline Bone.
Hélène Fortin. Soprano, b Dolbeau, Lac-St-Jean, Que, 2 July 1959, d Québec City, 26 October 2008; B MUS (Laval) 1985, M MUS (Laval) 1987. Hélène Fortin studied at Laval University with Louise André and received further training from Jane Randolph in California.
Mary Louise Fallis, CM, soprano, teacher, comedian, writer (born 22 April 1948 in Toronto, ON). Mary Lou Fallis has performed internationally in dramatic opera and as a classical singer but is best known for her comedic theatre works.
Louis 'Pitou' Boudreault (or Boudreau), violoneux and raconteur (born 5 July 1905 in Chicoutimi, QC; died there 7 Jul 1988).
Don Harvey Francks. Singer, actor (born 28 February 1932 in Burnaby, BC; died 3 April 2016 in Toronto, ON).
William Townsend, painter (b at London, Eng 23 Feb 1909; d at Banff, Alta 4 July 1973). He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, London (1926-30) and then worked in England as a painter and book illustrator.
Yves Trudeau, sculptor (b at Montréal 3 Dec 1930). He studied at the École des beaux-arts in Montréal. Moving from stylized bronze spiral figures in the late 1950s, Trudeau's "iron and wood" creations of the 1960s became highly charged with symbolism.
Morley Torgov, novelist, short story writer (b at Sault Ste Marie, Ont 3 Dec 1927). Torgov was educated at the University of Toronto (BA 1950), received his LLB from Osgoode Hall, and was called to the bar in 1954. While practising law in Toronto during the 1960s, he turned to writing.
