The 52: 52 Women who Transformed Toronto

In partnership with Museum of Toronto, The Canadian Encyclopedia published articles on women featured in the museum’s exhibit The 52: 52 Women who Transformed Toronto. The exhibit, presented from 9 April to 20 December 2025, “[shone] a spotlight on change-makers, rebels, and revolutionaries from Toronto’s past and present,” and reflected the fact that, in 2025, 52 per cent of Toronto’s population were women. This collection brings the biographies of the women of The 52 into one place. The illustrations featured are courtesy of Museum of Toronto.
