Rowena Rae

Rowena Rae is an award-winning author of non-fiction and fiction books for young readers. She has written about aquatic sciences and the environment, as well as for health, business, museum and educational publications. She taught copy editing courses for Simon Fraser University’s Editing Certificate program for five years. She gives talks on social issues such as the spread of misinformation and vaccine hesitancy. Rae’s books include Rachel Carson and Ecology for Kids (2020), Salmon: Swimming for Survival (2022) and Why We Need Vaccines: How Humans Beat Infectious Diseases (2024). She is co-author with her sister Elspeth Rae of the Meg and Greg children’s books.
