Robert E. Babe
Robert E. Babe, one of Canada’s leading communications and media scholars, was born in 1943. He studied economics at the University of Western Ontario, and media and communications at Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, Michigan. He wrote his PhD thesis on the economics of the cable TV industry. Professor Babe taught economics, broadcasting economics and journalism at several institutions including MSU, Carlton University, Concordia University, the University of Ottawa, McGill University and the University of Ottawa. He worked in the Federal Department of Communications and for the Economic Council of Canada. He wrote Telecommunications in Canada: Technology, Industry and Government (1990).
