John Sandlos
John Sandlos is an environmental historian. He has a BA from McGill University, an MES and PhD from York University and is a postdoctoral fellow with Western University. He has been a member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists; and of the Royal Society of Canada, and a professor in the Department of History at Memorial University. He was the principal investigator of the Abandoned Mines in Northern Canada Project and investigated acute and chronic arsenic poisoning of Dene communities. He is author or co-author of several articles and books including (with Arn Keeling) Mining Country: A History of Canada’s Mines and Miners (2021).
