Franz M. Koennecke
Franz M. Koennecke is a Canadian historian best known for writing WASOKSING - the History of Parry Island: An Anishnabwe Community in the Georgian Bay 1850-1920, a Master of Arts thesis published by the University of Waterloo history department in 1984. As a contributor to The Canadian Encyclopedia, Koennecke wrote about Francis Pegahmagabow, one of the most highly decorated Indigenous veterans of the First World War and an outspoken Indigenous rights activist.
