Dorothy Kennedy
Dorothy Kennedy is a Canadian anthropologist whose ethnographic and ethnohistorical research focuses on the Indigenous peoples in British Columbia and Washington State. She also provides expert anthropological services related to Aboriginal rights and title in Alberta, British Columbia and Yukon. As an academic, she has lectured internationally on Indigenous cultures and traditional land uses. She also co-founded the BC Indian Languages Project with Randy Bouchard in 1972 to document and preserve Indigenous languages in British Columbia. Together with Bouchard, she is the co-author of Indian Myths & Legends from the North Pacific Coast of America, an annotated translation of the landmark anthropological study conducted by Franz Boas.
