Acadian Trail, a 117 km long-distance coastal trail following the breathtaking west coast of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. It is hoped that this trail will continue inland through NS, connect with the Fundy Trail in New Brunswick, and eventually join the 3200 km long Appalachian Trail that begins in Maine. The trail traverses the rugged coast across the Cape Breton Highlands, passing over beaches, grasslands, spruce forests and wilderness sections.
