Sir Thomas Temple, governor of Nova Scotia (b at Stowe, Eng Jan 1615; d at Ealing, Eng 27 Mar 1674). One of 3 partners obtaining rights of trade and government in NS following the English conquest of 1654, Temple emerged as sole governor by 1662 but was forced to restore the colony to France in 1670.
