Éric Lapointe, author, composer, performer (b at Montréal 28 Sep 1969). Éric Lapointe started out as a singer in bars in 1991, and became a star much admired by youth with his hit "N'importe quoi" that earned the Félix for Best Song in 1994. A tour of Québec followed, then shows in Paris with Bon Jovi and the Rolling Stones. Lapointe's second album won the Félix for Best Rock Album in 1996. Since then, his gravely voice and "tough but tender-hearted" charm made him one of Québec's most enduring stars. À l'ombre de l'ange sold over 225 000 copies in 1999, and in 2004 Adrénaline confirmed his place among the elite of soft rock.
