Dora De Pédery-Hunt, sculptor (b at Budapest, Hungary 16 Nov 1913, d at Toronto 29 Sept 2008). Dora de Pédery-Hunt completed her studies in sculpture and design in Budapest in 1943 and immigrated to Canada in 1948.

Dora De Pédery-Hunt, sculptor (b at Budapest, Hungary 16 Nov 1913, d at Toronto 29 Sept 2008). Dora de Pédery-Hunt completed her studies in sculpture and design in Budapest in 1943 and immigrated to Canada in 1948. Her first solo show of medals and small sculptures in Toronto established her reputation as a sensitive representational artist endowed with superb technical skills. She was instrumental in introducing the ancient art of medal sculpture to Canada and is the Canadian delegate to the Fédération internationale de la médaille. A cast bronze medal she created for the Canada Council in 1961 and her design for the Canadian Olympic gold coin in 1976 were among her public commissions. Her work is in numerous public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada, the British Museum and the Smithsonian Institution.
