CHUM Limited, controlled by Allan Waters, and headquartered in Toronto, is one of Canada's largest radio and television broadcasting holding companies. CHUM operates 20 AM and FM radio stations located in Vancouver, BC; Winnipeg, Man; Peterborough, Toronto, Kitchener, Windsor and Ottawa, Ont; Montréal, Qué; and Halifax, NS. Its television operations include CJCH-TV in Halifax, CKCW-TV in Moncton-Charlottetown, CKLT-TV in Saint John-Fredericton, CJCB-TV in Sydney, NS, CKVR-TV in Barrie, Ont, and CITY-TV in Toronto - Canada's second-largest independent television station.

Other CHUM interests include the MuchMusic Network and the specialty TV service Bravo across Canada and the Atlantic Satellite Network throughout Atlantic Canada. CHUM is also engaged in the environmental background music business through its operation of the CHUM Satellite Business Music Network serving Ontario and Q Music serving Vancouver; owns a 50% interest in MusiquePlus Inc, Montréal; and is involved with the production of commercials. CHUM's total assets in 1994 were $199 million, with revenues of $199 million.
