Lewisporte, NL, incorporated as a town in 1946, population 3483 (2011c), 3308 (2006c). The Town of Lewisporte is a deep-water port and shipping centre in Notre Dame Bay, north-central Newfoundland.

By the end of WWII the community had grown sufficiently to obtain town status, a fact emphasized by dropping "Junction" from its name (1947). Since then, while growth has continued, the economy has been modified.

Kamsack primarily serves as an agricultural service centre for the surrounding district, which contains both grain and mixed farms.

Moosomin, Saskatchewan, incorporated as a town in 1887, population 2,743 (2016 census), 2,485 (2011 census). The town of Moosomin is located in southeastern Saskatchewan 15 km west of the Manitoba border.

La Tuque, Quebec, incorporated 1911, population 11,001 (2016 census), 11,227 (2011 census). La Tuque is located on the Rivière Saint-Maurice, 165 km north of Trois-Rivières. The town was built at the start of the 20th century at the site of a former trading post. It owes its name to a mountain shaped like a triangular woolen hat, popularly known as a “tuque.” The town’s economy is driven in large part by the forestry industry.

St. Stephen, New Brunswick, incorporated as a town in 1973, population 4,415 (2016 census), 4,817 (2011 census). The town of St. Stephen is located on the St. Croix River in southwestern New Brunswick. First incorporated as a town in 1871, in 1973 St. Stephen was amalgamated with nearby Milltown (incorporated 1878) to form St. Stephen-Milltown. The incorporated name of St. Stephen has been used since 1975.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, incorporated as a town in 1973, population 8,109 (2016 census), 7,552 (2011 census). The town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is the result of the amalgamation of two towns situated at the western end of Hamilton Inlet, Labrador. The community began with the construction of an air base during the Second World War. It remains home to a Canadian Forces Base and a small civilian population.

Renfrew, Ontario, incorporated as a town in 1895, population 8,223 (2016 census), 8,218 (2011 census). The town of Renfrew is located on the Bonnechere River, 100 km west of Ottawa.

Cartwright, Newfoundland and Labrador, incorporated as a town in 1997, population 427 (2016 census) 504 (2011 census). The town of Cartwright is located at the mouth of Sandwich Bay on the south coast of Labrador.

West Nipissing (also Nipissing Ouest), Ontario, incorporated as a municipality in 1999, population 14,364 (2016 census), 14,149 (2011 census). The name West Nipissing reflects the municipality's location on the northwest end of Lake Nipissing, 37 km west of North Bay. The region has a rich francophone history, and approximately 60 per cent of the population (8710 people) speak French as a mother tongue language (see Francophones of Ontario).

Smithers, British Columbia, incorporated as a town in 1967, population 5,401 (2016 census), 5,404 (2011 census). The town of Smithers is located on the Bulkley River in central BC, on Highway 16. The town is 334 km west of Prince George and 371 km east of Prince Rupert.

Fox Creek, Alta, incorporated as a town in 1967, population 1969 (2011c), 2278 (2006c). The Town of Fox Creek is located 74 km west of WHITECOURT. The town is named after a creek that flows through the community.

Gibbons, Alta, incorporated as a town in 1977, population 3030 (2011c), 2642 (2006c). The Town of Gibbons is located 55 km northeast of Edmonton on the Sturgeon River. Gibbons is named in honour of William R. Gibbons, the first homesteader in the area in 1894.

Grande Cache, Alta, incorporated as a town in 1983, population 4319 (2011c), 3783 (2006c). The Town of Grande Cache is located 430 km northwest of Edmonton, on a mountain plateau near the confluence of the Smoky and Sulphur rivers.

Grimshaw, Alta, incorporated as a town in 1953, population 2515 (2011c), 2537 (2006c). The Town of Grimshaw is located in the Peace River area 26 km west of the town of PEACE RIVER.

Hanna, Alta, incorporated as a town in 1914, population 2673 (2011c), 2847 (2006c). The Town of Hanna is situated 219 km northeast of Calgary and was named after David B. HANNA, 3rd vice-president of the Canadian Northern Railway, and was first settled in 1912.
