Muriel Millard, singer, actress, dancer, songwriter, painter (born 3 December 1922 in Montréal, QC; died 30 November 2014 in Montréal). Known as “Miss Music-Hall,” Muriel Millard was a famous Québécois cabaret singer who became a radio and television star before embarking on a successful second career as a painter.

Brian Ronald Macdonald, dancer, choreographer, director (born 14 May 1928 in Montréal, QC; died 29 November 2014 in Stratford, ON).

A fervent polemicist, Plamondon frequently wrote to the newspapers to argue his pictorial ideas and attack his rivals. In 1851, a year after winning a first prize with his Chasse aux tourtes at the Exposition de Québec, he moved his studio to Neuville, about 30 km upstream from Québec.

Alfred Pellan, painter (born 16 May 1906 in Québec City, Québec; died 31 October 1988 in ​Laval). In the mid-1940s Pellan began illustrating poetry books and designed costumes and sets for the theatre. During this period he developed his mature style.

Anna Weber, folk painter, fraktur artist (b in Earl Twp, Lancaster County, Pa 3 June 1814; d in Woolwich Twp, Waterloo County, Ont 12 Oct 1888). Weber immigrated to UC in 1825 and, following the death of her parents, moved from one Mennonite family to another until her own death.

Yolande Dulude. Soprano, born Montreal 12 Jan 1931, died there 18 Aug 2003; lauréat (Basile-Moreau College) 1948. After studying piano for a number of years, she began voice study in 1944.

Alexander Phimister Proctor, sculptor, painter (b in Bosanquet Twp, Lambton Co, Ont 27 Sept 1860; d at Palo Alto, Calif 5 Sept 1950). Proctor's family left Canada in 1866, settling in Denver, Colorado, in 1871.

Akeeaktashuk, sea hunter, sculptor, storyteller (b at Hudson Bay, near Inukjuak River, Qué 1898; d at Craig Harbour, NWT 1954). Akeeaktashuk was a jolly, robust and outgoing man with an astonishing talent for observing and keenly portraying humans, animals and birds in stone and ivory.

Aba Bayefsky, artist, teacher (b Toronto 7 Apr 1923; d Toronto 5 May 2001). Bayefsky studied at Central Technical School in Toronto from 1937 to 1942. The following year he enlisted in the RCAF and was commissioned as an Official War Artist in 1944.

Grauerholz's work has been shown in exhibition for over 12 years and occupies an important place in Canadian and international photography.

Yves Hébert, pen name Yves Sauvageau, actor, playwright (b at Waterloo, Qué 17 May 1946; d at Granby, Qué 12 Oct 1970). After studies in education at the École normale de Sherbrooke (1963-65), he enrolled in the National Theatre School (1965-68).

Alexander Henderson, lawyer, politician, commissioner of Yukon Territory (b at Oshawa, Ont 13 Mar 1861; d at Vancouver 13 Dec 1940). Educated at Osgoode Hall, University of Toronto, Henderson was called to the Ontario bar in 1899 and the BC bar in 1891.

Kashtin. Popular Montagnais duo - the singer-songwriters and guitarists Florent Vollant (b Maliotenam, near Sept Îles, Que, 10 Aug 1959) and Claude McKenzie (b Schefferville, Que, 11 Mar 1967). Kashtin means 'tornado' in the Montagnais' Innu aimun language.

Yolande Villemaire, teacher, writer (b at St-Augustin-des-Deux-Montagnes, Qué 28 Aug 1949). After studying dramatic arts at UQAM, where she received her BA (1970) and MA (1974), she taught creative literature at the Rosemont CEGEP.

Daoust, Yves. Composer, teacher, b Longueuil, near Montreal 10 Apr 1946. Daoust began studies in piano at age seven, wrote a film soundtrack for "prepared" piano at 16, and at 19 completed his first electronic work, for a Berlin theatre.

Albert Dumouchel, printmaker, teacher (b at Bellerive, Qué 15 Apr 1916; d at Montréal 11 Jan 1971). He studied etching and lithography in Paris. In Montréal in 1945, he participated in the "cadavres

Al Razutis, filmmaker, videographer, holographer (b at Bamberg, Germany 28 Apr 1946). Razutis moved to Vancouver from the US in 1968, following graduate studies in mathematical physics.

Anne Douglas Savage, painter (b at Montréal 27 July 1896; d there 25 Mar 1971). Best known during her lifetime as a pioneer in teaching children's art along progressive lines, Anne Savage's early paintings were initially strongly influenced by the Group of Seven.

Sapp is widely regarded as one of Canada's foremost Indigenous painters. Sapp's success as a painter in the realist tradition (associated more with European art) made him a pioneer of the new Indigenous arts.

Aiko Suzuki, fibre artist (b at Vancouver 1937; d there 31 Dec 2005). Although not a weaver or tapestry designer in the traditional sense, she was one of a number of Canadian artists who have used fibres and textile techniques as a medium for expressing abstract concepts.
