Morton-Master Duo. Piano duo active 1955-1990s, comprising Dorothy Morton and Esther Master. The Morton-Master Duo was formed at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal (CMM) and coached by Louis Bailly.

Alice Evelyn Wilson, MBE, geologist, paleontologist (born 26 August 1881 in Cobourg, ON; died 15 April 1964 in Ottawa, ON). Educated at the Universities of Toronto and Chicago, Wilson spent her entire professional career, from 1909 to 1946, with the Geological Survey of Canada. She was Canada’s first female geologist and the recognized authority on the fossils and rock of the Ottawa-St. Lawrence Valley. While she repeatedly faced barriers as a woman in a profession dominated by men, Wilson was gradually recognized for her work through various honours, including becoming the first female Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1938.
Ernest Leo Kolber, OC, businessman, philanthropist, senator (born 18 January 1929 in Montreal, QC; died 9 January 2020 in Montreal). Leo Kolber was a pillar of Canada’s business, political and philanthropic communities for more than 50 years. He was perhaps best known as a long-time advisor to the Bronfman family. Kolber also ran the successful real estate firm Cadillac Fairview Corporation, as well as holding companies that administered the Bronfman family trust. He served in the Senate of Canada from 1983 to 2004, most notably as chairman of the Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce. He was also the Liberal Party’s chief fundraiser for many years and chair of the Advisory Council on National Security from 2005 to 2007. An Officer of the Order of Canada, he was recognized for his many charitable and philanthropic contributions.
Frederick Alan (Rick) Moranis, actor, screenwriter (b at Toronto 18 Apr 1953). Rick Moranis was usually cast as the prototypical nerd or geek, enjoying a successful run in light comedies and family films in the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s.
John Carnell Crosbie, OC, lawyer, politician, lieutenant-governor of Newfoundland and Labrador 2008–13 (born 30 January 1931 in St John's, NL; died 10 January 2020 in St. John’s, NL).
Leslie Nielsen, actor, author (b at Regina 11 Feb 1926, d at Fort Lauderdale, Fla 28 Nov 2010). Leslie Nielsen was a veteran of more than 100 motion pictures and 1500 television appearances.
Charlie Panigoniak, ONu, singer, songwriter, guitarist (born 7 March 1946 in Eskimo Point, NWT [now Arviat, NU]; died 6 March 2019 in Rankin Inlet, NU). Charlie Panigoniak was one of the first people to write, record and perform music in Inuktitut. Often referred to as the “Johnny Cash of the North,” he is considered by many to be the father of Inuktitut music. (See also Music of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.) He was a Member of the Order of Nunavut and a recipient of the Nunavut Commissioner’s Performing Arts Award.
Brigadier-General (retired) John James (Jim) Grant, CM, CMM, CD, accountant, soldier, lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia 2012–17 (born 17 January 1936 in New Glasgow, NS). John Grant was Nova Scotia's 32nd lieutenant-governor.
