Myrtle Cook-McGowan , (born at Toronto, 5 Jan 1902; died at Elora, Ont 18 Mar 1985). Myrtle Cook was an athlete and journalist who participated in the 1928 OLYMPIC GAMES in TRACK AND FIELD.

Myriam Bédard, biathlete (b at Loretteville, Que 22 Dec 1969). Bédard took up biathlon while a cadet at the age of 15 and entered her first competition the next year using rented skis.

When the new heavyweight champion, Riddick Bowe, whom Lewis had beaten in the Olympic gold medal bout, refused to defend his title against Lewis, the World Boxing Council stripped Bowe of the title and awarded it to Lewis.

Walter Knox, track and field athlete (b at Listowel, Ont 1878; d at St Petersburg, Fla 3 Mar 1951). Knox was one of the most versatile and successful performers in Canadian sport. From 1896 to 1933, he obtained 359 firsts, 90 seconds and 52 thirds in competition.

George Knudson, golfer (b at Winnipeg 28 June 1937; d at Toronto 24 Jan 1989). Knudson was introduced to golf as a teenager at St Charles Country Club, Winnipeg, and later moved to Toronto. Fascinated with the golf swing, he was determined to make his reliable and efficient.

Sandra Post, golfer (b in Oakville, Ont 4 June 1948). She became Canada's first female professional golfer in 1968 and won the Ladies Professional Golf Association Championship at Sutton, Mass, during her rookie year.

In 1962 Chicago owner James Norris offered $1 million for him in a much-publicized incident. He was traded to Detroit 1968 and then Montréal 1971, where he set a new playoff scoring record that year (14 goals and 13 assists).

Philip Edward Marchildon, baseball player (born 25 October 1913 in Penetanguishene, Ontario; died 10 January 1997 in Toronto, Ontario).

Maurice Joseph Malone, hockey player (b at Sillery, Qué 28 Feb 1890; d at Montréal 15 May 1969). He turned professional with Québec Bulldogs in 1909, playing 7 years with them, 4 with the MONTREAL CANADIENS and 2 with Hamilton Tigers. Some of his scoring feats have never been matched.

Terrance Anthony Evanshen, football player (b at Montreal 13 June 1944). During a 14-year career in the CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE he developed into one of the most skilled pass receivers in CFL history.

Mark McKoy continued to excel after the games, winning gold medals at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in the 110 m hurdles, and as a member of the 4x100 m relay team.

On 28 January 1937, Morenz sustained a broken leg that proved to be a career-ending injury. In the months that followed, his health gradually declined, culminating in his death on 8 March of the same year.
