Mary Henderson. Soprano, teacher, b Longueuil (near Montreal) 17 Dec 1912. A study of the violin, begun at 10, led to a licentiate from McGill University. Her vocal studies, begun with Henri Pontbriand and Pauline Donalda in Montreal, were pursued in New York with C.
Myrtle Guerrero (b Rose, later m Knox-Leet). Educator, b North Battleford, Sask, 5 Aug 1906, d Oakville, Ont, 11 Aug 1995; ATCM 1939. After private studies 1917-28 in Lethbridge, Alta, she continued her training 1928-32 at the TCM, where her piano teachers were Peter C. Kennedy and Alberto Guerrero.

Audrey Johannesen (née Johnston), pianist, teacher (born 12 September 1930 in Regina, SK; died 21 May 2015 in Tsawwassen, BC). ATCM 1944, LRAM 1950, premier prix Brussels 1953. She studied with Frances England and Lyell Gustin in Regina and with Max Pirani at Banff.
(Judith) Marilyn Engle. Pianist, teacher, b Calgary 27 Jul 1946; B MUS (Juilliard) 1969, M SC MUS (Juilliard) 1970, MA (New York) 1975. Marilyn Engle's piano studies in Calgary with Gladys Egbert and in New York with Ilona Kabos led to first prizes in the 1966 CBC Talent Festival and the 1969 J.S.
Rosabelle Jones (b Smith). Pianist, harpsichordist, librettist, teacher, b Truro, NS, 26 Jul 1922, d Dec 1995; Licentiate (Mount Allison Conservatory) 1942, B MUS (Mount Allison) 1946. Rosabelle Jones was a pupil of Max Pirani in Toronto in 1947 and Yvonne Lefebure in Paris in 1949.
Johanne Perron. Cellist, teacher, b Chicoutimi, Que, 13 Apr 1959; premier prix chamber music (CMQ) 1977, premier prix cello (CMQ) 1978, M MUS (Yale) 1981.
Eliza Ritchie, educator, feminist (b at Halifax 20 May 1856; d there 5 Sept 1933). Ritchie graduated from Dalhousie in 1887 and 2 years later obtained her PhD from Cornell, probably the first Canadian woman to secure a doctorate.

Mary Ann (Elizabeth) Parker. Musicologist, teacher, b Toronto 21 Nov 1951; ARCT piano (1971), BA (Toronto) 1972, M MUS (Southern Illinois) 1976, PH D musicology (ESM, Rochester) 1982. Her PH D thesis, completed under the supervision of Alfred Mann, was on 'Handel's Latin Psalm settings.
