St. Clair Balfour, OC, DSC, publisher (born 30 April 1910 in Hamilton, ON; died 9 May 2002 in Toronto, ON).

St. Clair Balfour, OC, DSC, publisher (born 30 April 1910 in Hamilton, ON; died 9 May 2002 in Toronto, ON). Balfour attended Trinity College School and the University of Toronto. He served with distinction in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War, winning a Distinguished Service Cross. In 1955 he became executive vice-president of Southam Inc. and was chairman 1975–85. Balfour was instrumental in diversifying the company's interests into radio and TV.
