Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Science

Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Science was the academic journal of the Canadian Political Science Association, whose membership originally covered all the social sciences. It was published by University of Toronto Press from 1935 to 1967, when, having earlier spun off a separate journal for sociology and anthropology, it was succeeded by the Canadian Journal of Economics and the Canadian Journal of Political Science, the latter now published by Wilfrid Laurier University. The journal contained academic articles and book reviews in the fields of economics, political science, geography, sociology and anthropology, although there were few papers or reviews on the last 3 topics. It also contained a Bibliography of Economics which, until the elaboration of the National Library bibliographic services in the mid-1950s, was an essential guide to the subject. Its articles and book reviews, many of them on Canadian topics, were intelligible to the general reader.
